Cocrée is a community-oriented share house and IT office located in Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture, completed in 2015. Designed by architect Sachie Isaka of BEWS, this innovative project seamlessly integrates residential and commercial spaces to foster collaboration and community engagement. The building serves as both a dormitory and creative workspace, reflecting contemporary approaches to mixed-use architecture. By combining shared living quarters with office facilities, Cocrée demonstrates how thoughtful design can promote social interaction and economic vitality within local communities, making it a notable example of adaptive architecture that responds to modern urban needs.
