Shmoishi no Kayoijo is a distinctive elderly welfare facility completed in 2020, located in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. Designed by the collaborative team of Kaga Takanori, Uotani Tsuyoshi, and Suzuki Masaya from Hotori Architects and UO.A, this project exemplifies contemporary approaches to senior care architecture. The building thoughtfully integrates functionality with aesthetic design principles, creating welcoming spaces for elderly residents while demonstrating how modern architectural practice can enhance quality of life in social welfare facilities. Its completion represents an important contribution to community-focused architectural design in rural Japan.
