The Motoyama-ji Five-Story Pagoda Preservation and Restoration Project represents a significant conservation effort completed in 2019. Located in Toyonaka Town, Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, this architectural intervention was designed by Tada Yoshiaki Architectural Design Office. The project involved the careful disassembly and preservation restoration of this historic wooden pagoda, transforming it into a contemporary exhibition and art project space. This work exemplifies modern approaches to heritage preservation, balancing traditional craftsmanship with innovative adaptive reuse strategies. The project demonstrates how historic structures can be revitalized to serve contemporary cultural and artistic purposes while maintaining their architectural integrity and historical significance.
