Entô is a contemporary lodging facility completed in 2021, located in the remote island community of Ama in Shimane Prefecture. Designed by architect Hisahiro Harada and Mao Harada of Mount Fuji Architects Studio, the building exemplifies thoughtful integration with its natural surroundings and local landscape. The structure showcases modern architectural principles while respecting the vernacular character of the island setting. Its design demonstrates how contemporary hospitality architecture can enhance the guest experience while maintaining sensitivity to the cultural and environmental context of rural Japanese island communities.
