Kotohiragu Shrine Project, completed in 2004, represents a contemporary intervention at the historic Kotohira Shrine in Kagawa Prefecture. Designed by architect Ryoji Suzuki, this experimental work demonstrates sensitive integration of modern architectural language within a sacred context. The project serves dual functions as a shrine facility and ceremonial space, exploring how contemporary design can respectfully coexist with traditional religious architecture.
