The Gifu Philharmonic Orchestra Practice Hall Annex, completed in 2005, represents a contemporary addition to Gifu's cultural infrastructure. Designed collaboratively by Nawake Kenjim and Taiken MET, this commercial facility serves as an expansion to the orchestra's training space. Located in the Akumi Minami-yama district, the structure demonstrates modern architectural principles while meeting the functional requirements of a professional music organization. The annex exemplifies early 2000s Japanese commercial architecture, blending aesthetic considerations with practical performance space design. This project showcases the designers' approach to creating specialized facilities that support cultural activities within an urban context.
