Heart Home Miyano Shinkan is a elderly welfare facility and dormitory completed in 2012, located in Miyano, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Designed by architects Hidetoshi Ohno, Akihiro Yoshida, and the Apple Design Workshop, this facility exemplifies contemporary Japanese approach to senior care architecture. The project thoughtfully integrates functional living spaces with sensitive design considerations for residents' wellbeing. The collaboration of multiple design perspectives resulted in a compassionate architectural solution that balances practical requirements of a care facility with the creation of a welcoming residential environment for elderly inhabitants.
