Midoricho Collective Housing, completed in 2018 and located in Musashino, Tokyo, represents a contemporary interpretation of traditional Japanese row house design. Created by architects Shunji Naka and Yuri Uno of Naka Architectural Design Studio, this residential project thoughtfully combines the historical charm of long houses with modern living requirements. The terrace house typology allows for individual expression while maintaining visual and spatial coherence within the community. The design demonstrates sensitive attention to the surrounding urban context and showcases how classical architectural languages can be reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.
