Izumo City Hall, completed in 2009, represents a contemporary approach to civic architecture in Shimane Prefecture. Designed collaboratively by Mizuho Sekkei, the Izumo New City Hall Design Consortium, and Katsuya Kawashima plus Kimiyasu Tanaka of Nikken Sekkei, the building combines functional municipal office space with thoughtful architectural design.
