Layer is a contemporary residential project completed in 2018 by architects Takeshi Komada and Yuka Komada of Komada Architectural Design Office, located in Toshima Ward, Tokyo. This innovative housing complex reimagines the traditional Japanese rowhouse and terrace house typology for modern collective living. The design thoughtfully explores layering concepts through spatial organization and material expression, creating dynamic interconnections between individual units and communal areas.
