Plaza and Library is a contemporary library facility completed in 2023, located in Iga City, Mie Prefecture. Designed by Yamazaki Kentaro Design Workshop, this building seamlessly integrates public plaza space with library functions. The architecture thoughtfully balances open community gathering areas with intimate reading spaces, creating a multifunctional destination. The design emphasizes connectivity between interior and exterior environments, inviting visitors to experience both the library's collection and the surrounding landscape. This project exemplifies modern approaches to civic architecture, where cultural institutions serve as dynamic social hubs while maintaining their primary educational mission.
