Scienna Gaya is a contemporary townhouse development located in Ota Ward, Tokyo, completed in 2017. Designed by Yasutaka Yoshimura Architects, this project thoughtfully reinterprets the traditional Japanese rowhouse typology for modern urban living. The design seamlessly blends vernacular architectural principles with contemporary aesthetics, creating intimate yet spacious residential units. Each dwelling maintains individual character while contributing to a cohesive streetscape. Yoshimura's approach demonstrates sensitive infill architecture that respects the neighborhood context while introducing fresh perspectives on communal living and domestic space organization in dense metropolitan areas.
