Rokkkakubashi no Shiken Nagaya is a contemporary terrace house completed in 2022, located in Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama. Designed by Tsubame Architects, this project thoughtfully reinterprets the traditional Japanese nagaya typology for modern living. The development features four connected residential units that balance individual privacy with a sense of community. Through careful spatial planning and material selection, the architects created a harmonious blend of historical references and contemporary design. This work exemplifies how vernacular housing traditions can be reimagined to meet the needs and aesthetics of today's residents while respecting the architectural heritage of urban neighborhoods.
