Completed in 2018, Suginami Takaidoberrry Nursery and Takaidono Sato Group Home represents a thoughtful integration of intergenerational care facilities in Tokyo's Suginami ward. Designed by Takao Fujiki Architectural Institute and Saori Imoto of Nihon University, this project harmoniously combines childcare and elderly welfare services within a single structure. The design demonstrates innovative approaches to creating functional spaces that serve both young and aging populations, while fostering meaningful community interaction. This facility exemplifies contemporary Japanese architectural practice in social infrastructure, balancing practical program requirements with compassionate spatial planning for vulnerable populations.
