Chashitsu Ima Meido is a contemporary tea room installation located in New York City, completed in 2011. Designed by Hiroshi Sugimoto and Tomoyuki Sakakida of the New Materials Research Laboratory, this unique architectural work blends traditional Japanese tea room aesthetics with modern artistic practice. Serving as a venue for exhibitions and art projects, the structure represents an innovative dialogue between Eastern cultural heritage and Western contemporary art.
