The Tokyo University of the Arts International Art Resource Center (IRCA) comprises a new archive building and renovated existing library facility completed in 2018. Designed through collaboration between Yamamoto & Hori Architects, Kisao Hakamada, Hisao Hashimoto, Toshifumi Matsumoto, Hideki Yoshimatsu, and Nikken Sekkei's team of Taro Nakamoto, Yoshihito Ishihara, and Yuka Hagiwara, this project thoughtfully integrates modern storage and research spaces with heritage library functions. The design demonstrates sophisticated architectural planning for an academic institution serving both archival preservation and scholarly access needs.
