Asakusa Machiya is a residential townhouse located in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, completed in 2010. Designed by architect Gou Hasegawa, this contemporary dwelling thoughtfully interprets the traditional Japanese machiya typology within an urban context. The project demonstrates a refined approach to adapting historical architectural forms to modern living requirements while respecting the character of Asakusa's historic neighborhood.
